In the winter months, most buyers take a break from house shopping to focus on holiday shopping and to spend quality time with their loved ones during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Some sellers share the same sentiment, so now we have fewer buyers and fewer sellers in the market.
Lower inventory and lower demand can actually be an opportunity—for buyers. If a buyer finds a home they love, they’ll face less competition and could possibly get more seller incentives. This is not ideal for a seller, but if they have to sell, that’s just what they have to deal with.

If you cannot get the home on the market in late March or April (Prime Time), May and June are still great months to list your home. High buyer demand usually continues through June and even into early July. July and August can slow down due to vacations and summer travel, even though some sellers still list and head out of town, hoping the home will go under contract by the time they return.
